Academic Program Manager – Johannesburg at Mancosa

MANCOSA, a DHET-registered, CHE-accredited private higher education provider offering both undergraduate and postgraduate business qualifications, has the following vacant position: Academic Program Manager – Johannesburg


The MANCOSA Academic Officer should be a highly qualified member of the management team. Under the direction of the academic direction, the academic director should have the ability to lead the various departments with a particular emphasis on academic delivery, maintain records and serve as a liaison when necessary. The academic leader must work with all stakeholders to achieve the vision and mission of MANCOSA.

BASIC FUNCTIONS Oversees the implementation and management of the study program Creates report templates in functional areas Facilitates all academic planning and develops academic calendars Liaison between headquarters and academic staff in the regions Work closely together with Headquarters Academic Directors on governance, assessments and support Understands and is able to navigate using a student LMS Periodic supervision of academic quality assessment, Ability to benchmark against other providers and make recommendations on Best Practices Monitors student performance, identifies at-risk students and provides retention plans for student success in the region Create bi-monthly reports for academic leadership Monitor academic performance, conduct exams and conduct reviews recommendations on improvements Supervise observe vation and evaluations of all staff within his / her management area Coordinates the accreditation process and ensures that all audit requirements are met Record-keeping capacity, ability to interpret statistics and take informed decisions Create a repository for educational policies, procedures, committee activities and documentation Ability to chair meetings, document and report on decisions Ability to process and support student requests Provide leadership to all other staff on a daily basis Perform all other assigned tasks.


Minimum Masters degree or equivalent Preferably specialization in one of the following areas: 1. Retail and hospitality 2. Supply chain management 3. Local government and public administration 4. Entrepreneurship 5. Legal studies 6. Risk management


At least 3 years of experience and a proven track record in university monitoring, planning and administration. Fluency in English and any other language is an advantage Professional experience in creating online programs Excellent communication skills: written and oral Strong working knowledge of Google Docs / Forms, Microsoft Office Suite, moodle, client-oriented approach High degree of flexibility


High level of written and verbal communication skills, Ability to encourage teamwork and solicit ideas from academics, Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills and advanced knowledge in implementing plans to respond to problems academic,

REPORTS To Regional Director Submit semi-annual reports to Academic Exco

GENERAL Must be able to work overtime if necessary.
